At Chingford Foundation School, our mission is for students to thrive. We have developed an academic and enrichment programme which we call 'Our Journey to Excellence'.
We understand how beneficial enrichment opportunities are to students, enabling them to immerse themselves in their interests, enhance academic performance, develop positive attitudes and boost creativity.
Within our Chingford family, we want our learners to be able to showcase their passions.
Our students are encouraged to engage and explore a range of activities beyond the classroom. Whether on a basketball court, in the music room, participating in school competitions or on the stage, there is something to capture the interest and imagination of every student.
These opportunities promote personal growth, the development of key skills and attributes and add a breadth of experience to prepare students for life beyond Chingford Foundation School.
A typical enrichment timetable is shown below but typically activities include:
- A range of extra-curricular clubs including sports, computer science, cookery, orchestra and much more
- Clubs designed to support the curriculum including homework club, STEM club, coursework catch up, intervention sessions, ICT Skills club and maths club
- Participate in school performances and shows with our resident Arts Award Theatre Company
- Sports competitions
- Jack Petchey Challenges
- Duke of Edinburgh Scheme
Important Note: In order to keep staff and students safe, there will be no extra-curricular activities during the first half of the Autumn term 2020-2021. We will be monitoring the situation and reviewing our Covid risk assessment. We will contact parents and carers when we are able to resume activities.
